Republicans try to ban abortion and unsafe motorcycle driving in a single sentence

This is what good governance looks like in the North Carolina Legislature

On Wednesday, Republicans in North Carolina inserted sweeping abortion restrictions into a bill about motorcycle safety -- without public notice and only three minutes before the measure was meant to go up for debate.

After some delay, the text of the measure has finally been released. And yes, banning safe reproductive care and instituting new protections for Harley-Davidson riders -- all in the same sentence -- is exactly as jarring as one would expect.
