Last night's edition of "Late Night" host Seth Meyers' masterful "Closer Look" segment focused on the weaselly tactics used by Ted Cruz's campaign.

On Rick Tyler, the former Cruz spokesman asked to resign after tweeting misinformation about Marco Rubio's religiosity, Meyers said, "Did Rick Tyler really see someone reading the Bible and said, 'Time to take this sucker down a peg'?"

"The bigger problem for Cruz is that this scandal is just the latest in a series of incidents that have given his campaign a reputation for having low ethical standards," Meyers explained.

On Closet Summit -- Carson and Cruz's reported meeting in a storage closet last Thursday to smooth over controversy involving the latter's campaign falsely spreading that the former was dropping out -- Meyers called it, "a moment I'm sure both of them as anti-gay rights advocates immediately regretted when they realized they would eventually have to come out of the closet -- together."
