Donald Trump addressed violence at his rallies at Thursday night's debate saying “I certainly don’t condone that at all" when asked if he'd "done anything to create a tone where this kind of violence could be encouraged.”

The statement was a direct contradiction of his past remarks — particularly one made on Feb. 1 when he said "Knock the crap out of him, would you? Seriously, okay, just knock the hell, I promise you I will pay your legal fees," in reference to a protestor.
