"Full Frontal" host Samantha Bee last night sat down with an "impossibly diverse panel" of Bernie Sanders supporters who don't quite fit the "bro" affixation that's too often used to classify Sanders's base.
In sitting down with these Sanders supporters, Bee tried desperately to understand their unflappable belief in a candidate whose platform would, in all likelihood, be obstructed to death in the legislature.
Playing a word-association game with her panel, Bee mentioned Hillary Clinton and got back "dishonest," "inauthentic" and "uninspiring."
"She's saying, 'Elect me because I know how to grease the wheels,'" one panelist said.
"Do you think she's too much in the pocket of big, realistic expectations?" Bee responded — the slight dig flew over the head of at least that one panelist, who agreed, "deep down in the pocket."
She then pranked the panel by telling them that, while they were sitting there, Sanders announced his running-mate: Elizabeth Warren. After giving the panel time to react positively, Bee revealed that she'd been lying and had accurately predicted their reaction to be a "communal orgasm."
"As long as you didn't say communist orgasm," one panelist replied, "that's fine with me."
