"Late Show" host Stephen Colbert last night examined the flimsiness of GOP nominee Donald Trump's campaign, which announced Monday it had let go campaign manager Corey Lewandowski amid rumors of infighting with campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

"After defending Lewandowski when he was charged with battery of a female reporter, why fire him now?" Colbert said. "The whole thing is a mystery wrapped in a riddle, trapped inside an enigma, and slathered with spray tan."

"After firing longtime advisers, supporters dropping left and right, no funding coming in still seems so confident," he continued. "And I was wondering why, until I saw he has a secret weapon: Scott Baio."

In a Fox Business interview, Baio repeatedly implied that President Obama is a secret Muslim (or at the very least a Muslim-sympathizer) as evidenced by his refusal to classify the Orlando massacre as "radical Islamic terrorism."

"I don't know what's more surprising," Colbert responded, "Scott Baio's opinion or the fact that someone asked Scott Baio's opinion."
