"And the Trump delegates were en fuego," Colbert explained

Stephen Colbert's "Late Show" again went live following day three of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

"As they say in Texas, revenge is a dish best served con queso," Colbert said, referring to Trump's inadvertent "f you" to his primary rival, flying "Trump Force One" directly overhead of a Cruz rally nearby the Quicken Loans Arena. Cruz, however, got the last petty word (or lack thereof) on Wednesday night when he refused to endorse Trump during his primetime convention speech.

"And the Trump delegates were en fuego," Colbert explained. "From now on, it'll be known as the Red Convention."

"I can't impress upon you how crazy this is. He was the primetime speaker and he did not endorse the candidate," he continued. "That's like being the best man at a wedding and toasting the groom by saying, 'Hey, buddy, you'll find a good one eventually — maybe without such big cankles.'"
