Everyone with not-terrible music taste has reason to rejoice today, because boy-king Justin Bieber has announced that he's quitting music.

Speaking to Los Angeles radio station Power 106 on Tuesday to promote his upcoming album, "Journals," a straight-faced Bieber said, "I’m actually ... I’m retiring, man, I’m retiring." At the ripe old age of 19, the singer explained that he's "just going to take some time."

"I think I’m probably going to quit music," he reiterated.

Though he did not show any trace of sarcasm or humor, it's not clear whether Bieber means it or not. His reps didn't respond to E! for comment, but another source told the site, "Of course it's not true."

Just a few weeks ago, Bieber's manager Scooter Braun explained that the singer has been getting help to transition from being a teenage pop star to an adult artist from Will Smith, Drake and Eminem.

If true, however, retirement will give the world's biggest pop star significantly more time to pursue his other hobbies, like abandoning monkeys and spitting on people.
