On his radio show Monday morning, Glenn Beck spent one whole segment attacking Michelle Obama for discussing her experience with racism in a commencement speech at Tuskegee University this weekend. She discussed the horrifically racist ways media have depicted her. ("One said I exhibited 'a little bit of uppity-ism,' another noted that I was one of my husband's 'cronies of color.' Cable news once charmingly referred to me as 'Obama's Baby Mama,'" she said.)
Beck argued that since white people voted for her, she shouldn't dare mention the concept of racism.
"White people in droves went out to vote for you," he said. "You were somehow invisible so much that you became the President and First Lady of the United States of America? Tell me about the troubles that you have seen!"
Beck then argued that conservatives and Christians were the real victims of bigotry: "The conservatives have never felt it! The jobs we are suddenly bypassed for because we're conservative, because of our viewpoint. The religious that are mocked on a daily basis and belittled. Yeah, we've never felt that. We don't know what it's like."
The depths of conservative Twitter also chimed in to publicly disparage Obama's talk as race-baiting and hate-filled, which, if you read the text of the speech, is totally absurd:
