Does Hannibal Buress give a crap about the lack of gender equality in Hollywood, especially in comedy? Well, that's unclear, especially after an oddly dismissive tweet the comedian fired off on Monday.
Buress, who is widely credited with bringing renewed attention to Bill Cosby's past sexual assault allegations, responded combatively to a critic who called out the fact that his new Comedy Central show, "Why? With Hannibal Buress," has only just one female writer on staff:

"Counting" has actually become a crucial tool for highlighting gender disparities in numerous fields, ranging from business to book reviews to -- you guessed it -- the entertainment industry. Buress' dismissal seems slightly odd from a star who has been intimately involved with a project such as "Broad City," which has been groundbreaking for women on television -- but perhaps that's because attitudes such as this one are at the root of the problem.
