A new comedy from the writer of the "Pitch Perfect" series gives a fresh take on the classic story of a teenager losing her virginity-this time it's from the women's perspective. Kay Cannon, the director of "Blockers" starring Leslie Mann, John Cena and Ike Barinholtz, who is also an Emmy Award-nominated TV writer and producer, shares the impact her directorial debut is having on Hollywood with "Salon Talks."

Cannon's experiences with her mentors like Tina Fey and Elizabeth Banks have helped her master writing breakout female characters for comedy. On "Salon Talks" she jokes, "Tina Fey is my mentor whether she likes it or not." It was Fey who decided to bring Cannon on as a writer for NBC's hit series "30 Rock." Cannon, originally a comedic performer, met Fey back in Chicago at The Second City, a comedy club and improv school.
