Ecstatic Sunshine are a Baltimore-based electric guitar duo who play intricate instrumental pieces, unsettled and fickle, now riffing in contented synchronicity, now at each other's throats in flurries of pointed, jabbing lines. On their new full-length record, "Freckle Wars," their guitars maintain bright, trebly, top-heavy sound, bracing in short bursts but grating over the course of the album.
