A tip: If you ever have a secret you don't want to get out, don't tell it to Rep. Jean Schmidt, R-Ohio. She's not exactly great at being discreet.
ThinkProgress was at a tea party this past weekend where Schmidt spoke. At one point, while the congresswoman was within earshot of a ThinkProgress camera, she was accosted by a very excited Birther who yelled at her, "He [President Obama] can not be a president by our Constitution."
As she attempted to calm the woman down, Schmidt replied, in what she apparently intended to be a whisper, "Ma'am, I agree with you, but the courts don't."
That seems like a pretty unambiguous statement of Birtherism from Schmidt. In her defense, she could say she was just trying to placate the woman and end the confrontation -- but, of course, there are other ways of doing that.
