Donald Trump is out stumping on the campaign trail in South Carolina today but nobody seems to have noticed.
To be sure, Trump is still stealing headlines even with Pope Francis in town, reigniting his feud with Fox News' Megyn Kelly overnight and announcing a boycott of the network this afternoon, but it looks like he may be losing steam on the campaign trail.
Trump came to speak to the state’s African-American Chamber of Commerce in Charleston after canceling an appearance at the Heritage Action Presidential Forum in Columbia last week amidst mounting controversy over his refusal to correct a supporters false anti-Muslim claims. Trump's campaign reportedly blamed the low turnout on people only having 10 minute notice about the event but as NPR's Jessica Taylor notes, an advisory was sent out on Monday.
In a CNN poll released over the weekend, Trump's support fell significantly from a poll conducted right before the second Republican debate.
