In an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" Wednesday, onion-eyed GOP front-runner Donald Trump declared that despite their very public flap over the size of the real estate magnate's penis, he would still consider Florida Senator Marco Rubio as a potential vice presidential candidate.
Trump initially demurred, saying that Rubio "has a big decision to make" -- whether to drop out of the race before the Florida primary -- "but I've always liked him, then he hit me very, very hard."
"I really liked him, and got along with him until a few weeks ago, when he started playing Don Rickles," Trump added. "It was very surprising to see, but it was out of character, and I got nasty."
"But if he decided to drop out, since you need help with Hispanic voters, and since you need help with the Republican establishment, could Marco Rubio as your vice president be a bridge?" host Joe Scarborough asked.
"I think if runs and loses," Trump replied, barely veiling his threat, "I think he'll never be able to do anything big politically in Florida in the future, either as a vice president or a governor."
"I’m asking you though if he drops out before losing Florida, would you consider him?" Scarborough repeated. "Could he possibly on the list as a vice president of yours because he could help outreach to Hispanics and help your outreach to the establishment?"
"He’s got a lot of talent," Trump said. "I just don’t want to say that yet, Joe. It’s too—it’s just not appropriate to talk about it until he makes a decision. I have respect for him. He’s got great talent and I just don’t want to say that yet, it’s too soon."
"We're going to take that as a 'yes,'" Scarborough concluded.
