You know what's really funny sometimes? Republicans, prattling on about terrorist threats and economic growth like it's 2002 and we're not completely exhausted, disillusioned and close to foreclosing on our homes. It's creepily entertaining, really, to watch a bunch of strange individuals in suits smiling broadly like it's 1955 and the meatloaf's about to come out of the oven. What planet are these fine-looking beings from, and how do we get there? While there may not be a steady stream of one-liners tripping off every tongue at tonight's "CNN/YouTube Republican Debate" (8 p.m. EST on CNN), we were probably just as skeptical back in 1999, and then Bush kept repeating all of those hilarious punch lines about the importance of "winning wars." (Hey, at least he started a few wars; that's more than you can say for most world leaders.) Tune in for tonight's big laugh-in, and tomorrow, be sure to come back and recount your favorite jokes.

Also…

The annual tree lighting of "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" airs at 8 p.m. EST on NBC. For those determined to push the impending holidays out of their minds, tonight's episode of "Great Performances" features Eric Clapton and B.B. King (9 p.m. EST on PBS, check listings). And on "Private Practice" (9 p.m. EST on ABC), Kate Walsh's Cooper begins a secret affair with one of her co-workers.
