Long lines form at gas stations in New Jersey and New York

For those who remember, the long lines at gas stations might strike up images of the Carter era; for everyone, the lines seem surreal, almost post-apocalyptic.

As much of the East Coast remains without power, gas stations are struggling to stay open and meet the increasing demands of customers several days after Hurricane Sandy hit.
