All the pop songs of 2012 in one mashup

The 8-minute track features an unlikely combination of Tyga, Justin Bieber, Psy and others

No matter how much you love, or love to hate, pop music, chances are good that you'll feel a sense of nostalgia for 2012 when listening to Daniel Kim's "Pop Danthology," a mashup of 55 pop songs from this year. Even if Katy Perry and the Biebs are not your artists of choice, if you go to bars or restaurants or turn on your radio, chances are good that you've heard most of these songs before. And it's pretty amazing that so many flash-in-the-pan songs that all sound the same can actually elicit an emotional response.

The 8-minute track plays just the right amount of each pop song, which meld seamlessly together. On his blog, producer Daniel Kim notes how intentional this is, writing, "making a mash-up is like completing a huge puzzle (not every piece goes together)." The process took Kim about 500 hours over three months.
