According to Bloomberg News, this is not a joke

Onion Inc., which owns satirical news site the Onion and entertainment site the A.V. Club, is reportedly up for sale. Thursday night, Bloomberg News reported that Onion Inc. "hired a financial adviser for a possible sale, according to people with knowledge of the matter."

Investment bank GCA Savvian is working with Onion Inc. Bloomberg reported, according to sources who could not be named due to the privacy deliberations. CEO of Onion Inc., Steve Hannah, declined commenting to Bloomberg News.

The Onion, along with its spinoff ClickHole, deftly parodies the news and news sites. (Often, people don't even recognize the Onion stories as "fake news.") The site in the past has also sparked controversy, especially with their tasteless tweet about actress Quenzhane Wallis.
