Now that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tx.) has officially announced his candidacy for president, morning shows can officially start bashing him. On Monday morning's edition of "Morning Joe," host Mika Brzezinski asked a panel, "Is [Cruz] the Herman Cain, the 9-9-9 of this election? Is he the, I don't know, the Rick Perry?"

Guest Donny Deutsch, MSNBC contributor and ad executive, didn't miss a beat and said, "He's the Sarah Palin."

"He's a sideshow. Listen, he's unelectable, okay?" Deutsch continued. "It's very, very simple. When you look at the swing states and the way demographics are moving in Ohio, the way they are moving in Colorado, a character like this who says... there's no such thing as climate change. Basically, his first few years in Senate, there have been no legislation... He's a complete obstructionist."
