On "The O'Reilly Factor" Monday, host Bill O'Reilly declared himself capable of "persuad[ing]" Pope Francis that Donald Trump is literally on the side of Jesus and the angels when it comes to building a wall between the United States and Mexico.

O'Reilly, who is a Catholic, said that "I think I could persuade the Pope that providing protection and enforcing settled law is certainly not un-Christian." But he wouldn't be doing that persuading on his own -- he would bring the parents of the murdered Kate Steinle with him as political and pathos-inducing props.

"I would tell him that because the U.S. Government will not secure the southern border of the United States, a Mexican career criminal was able to illegally enter America six times after being deported five time," O'Reilly said, before proceeding to inform his audience what he would tell the pontiff Jesus really believed about the immigration crisis.

"What I believe might infuriate Jesus is politicians who are sworn to uphold laws, ignoring their oaths in pursuit of power and votes,” he argued. “When human beings are being harmed, Christians have a sacred duty to try to stop that harm."

Of course, by "human beings" here he is referring specifically to Americans, not to those attempting to the enter United States illegally to escape humanitarian crises in their home countries.
