NASA just released 2.95 million satellite images to the public

The Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) was launched in 1999 and has photographer 99% of the Earth's surface! The initial projection was a five year run but it has far surpassed that time frame and will continue to monitor Earth.  2.95 million images were made public on April 1st.
