NRATV, the gun lobby's very own news show, wants to protect us from "the mainstream media’s assault against freedom"

Relative to its membership, the NRA's news show is hardly drawing viewers — but enjoyable to gawk at, all the same

The National Rifle Association has its own news medium that — relative to the powerful gun lobby's membership count — almost no one watches. Still, Media Matters was hip to NRATV (née NRA News) and found a clip from October of host Grant Stinchfield complaining about media bias against President-elect Donald Trump that tells you all you need to know.

"The mainstream media’s assault against freedom and the Constitution has played out every night on the airwaves of America," Stinchfield said. "The overwhelmingly biased attacks against Donald Trump are usually cloaked as real news, when in reality it’s a diversion from the important topics we need to be talking about, like save the Second Amendment. Megyn Kelly performed this sleight-of-hand magic trick last night while she was interviewing former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. She only wanted to talk about the sexual allegations leveled against Donald Trump, but the speaker fought back."

In an October interview with Fox News's Megyn Kelly, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich got peeved after the host suggested Trump might be "a sexual predator."

"He’s not a sexual predator. You can’t say that! You could not defend that statement," Gingrich snapped. "I am sick and tired of people like you using language that’s inflammatory that’s not true!"

"You are fascinated with sex and you don’t care about public policy," he added. "That’s what I get out of watching you tonight."
