Todd Swift
"Flight Delayed"

Todd Swift was born in Montreal, Canada in 1966, and raised in St-Lambert. He is one of Canada's leading poetry activists. Swift's work has appeared in numerous Canadian and international journals, including Prism International, Quarry, Matrix, Excursus (New York) and Himself (Ireland).

Todd has issued six chapbooks of poetry, including American Standard, French Maid and Top Twenty. As a spoken word performer, he collaborated with composer / trombonist Tom Walsh on a variety of projects, and wrote the lyrics for the dance piece Sterile Fields. Todd has performed his poetry across North America, at venues including the Nuyorican Poets Cafe in New York City and the Can Tab in Boston. He has had work produced for HBO, Fox and Paramount, and was creative consultant on the last season of Sailor Moon (English version). Todd is also the co-editor, with Regie Cabico, of Poetry Nation: The North American Anthology of Fusion Poets. His most recent publication is BUDAVOX: Poems 1990-1999 (DC Books).

In 1997 he moved to Budapest, Hungary, where he currently resides, to lecture in the American Studies Program at the University of Budapest.
