Daily Download: "Falling Slowly," the Frames
The Frames have a knack for the kind of widescreen and nakedly emotional guitar rock that their fellow Irishmen U2 do, or did, so well. Thankfully, Frames lead singer Glen Hansard doesn't carry any of the blowhard baggage that gets in the way of my really enjoying Bono and Co. at this point. "Falling Slowly" is taken from the band's sixth album, "The Cost," which was just released stateside and has already established itself as one of the group's best releases.
