Song of the Day: "I Wish," David Byrne with Forro in the Dark

David ByrneOn today's song, the ever-restless David Byrne teams up with Brazilian by way of New York band Forro in the Dark to make music that sounds like a South American circus version of country music. You can almost hear Byrne smiling as he sings the slightly warped lyrics ("I wish I'd never seen your fucking perfect smile") over a technicolor arrangment of twangy guitar, triangle and brass. Taken from Forro in the Dark's "Bonfires of Sao Joao," "I Wish" isn't a particularly substantial song, but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable.
