Salon’s guide to what to watch

Weekend Pick

Battlestar Galactica

Sci Fi

"Battlestar Galactica" (10 p.m. EDT Friday on Sci Fi) is back and bleaker than ever -- if that's even possible. From Starbuck spiraling around in outer space in search of planet Earth to Callie's ugly breakdown, the show has actually been difficult to watch since it returned. And with Tory turning into some kind of seductress-demon Cylon out of the blue, there's no relief in sight. May the gods have mercy on all of them!

Also…

On Friday, Jennifer Garner stars in "13 Going on 30" (8 p.m. EDT on Fox) and a new episode of vampire drama "Moonlight" airs (9 p.m. on CBS). On Saturday, needy families get dream vacations but have to spend them with Pauly Shore on "Paid Vacation With Pauly Shore" (premieres 9 p.m. on CMT), while the second season of "Robin Hood" premieres at 9 p.m. on BBC America. On Sunday, "Everybody Hates Chris" airs at 8 p.m. on the CW, followed by "The Tudors" (9 p.m. on Showtime) and the season finale of "Tracey Ullman's State of the Union" (10 p.m. on Showtime).
