Women in the U.K. -- feel free to release a big sigh of relief -- you can now gaze at posters of George Clooney and Brad Pitt while having your nether region examined. According to the Wigan Observer, nurses in the gynecological wing of Leigh Infirmary in Wigan, England, determined that posters of Hollywood's leading men would be a welcome alternative to staring at bland ceiling tiles. Patients, they say, would be relaxed by the collage, which is scarily reminiscent of a 13 year-old's bedroom ceiling. For some, an alternative might be a calming beach scene -- not a horny heartthrob. Oh, but they have calming beach scenes and horny heartthrobs -- not to mention puppies and dolphins (what more could a girl ask for, really?). The whole thing is a bit bizarre, although certainly well intentioned. But here are some other suggestions: speculums that aren't ice-cold and paper smocks that feel slightly less like second-day stubble. Perhaps a little more conducive to relaxation than Pitt's cheesy mug?
