Duncan Hunter on the attack

In South Carolina, the congressman and presidential candidate takes off after his fellow Republicans. Read the flier here.

April 26, 2007 | Editor's note: A couple of weeks ago, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., got caught with the first signed negative flier of his 2008 campaign. Last weekend, in South Carolina, Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., joined the front-runner, releasing an attack piece on his Republican rivals.

When asked about the document, Hunter denied going negative. He called the flier a fair comparison of records. "I think it's good," he said. "I say the Republicans are good guys with strong differences. I simply point out voting records."

A Fox News survey this month of likely Republican primary voters found Hunter polling at 1 percent in South Carolina, compared to 26 percent for former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, 25 percent for McCain, and 14 percent for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. The flier is below.
