Obama ad hits McCain for Cheney endorsement

Barack Obama's campaign is looking to milk Dick Cheney's public support of John McCain for all it's worth.

The Obama campaign's latest ad is called "Delighted." The title works on two levels -- first, it's a quote from Vice President Dick Cheney, who said Saturday, "I'm delighted to support John McCain." And second, it appears to sum up the Obama camp's feelings about that comment from Cheney -- they're flat-out revelling in it.

It doesn't look like the Democratic nominee's campaign will be putting much in the way of resources behind the spot. They say it'll air "on national cable," not a good sign for how much play it'll actually get. It seems more designed to just keep Cheney -- and his support for the McCain-Palin ticket -- in the narrative as the campaign draws to a close, allowing them to hammer McCain as the heir to President Bush.
