Anthrax scare at New York Times

Police are investigating after an envelope containing a "white granular substance" sent to the New York Times was opened at the paper's headquarters today. One floor of the building has reportedly been evacuated, and one entrance has been closed. The letter was addressed to the Times' editorial page editor, Andy Rosenthal.

The New York Observer reports that an unnamed "source close to the Times" says the police don't believe the substance was dangerous.
