“Airport”
Infographic-created short for portable device film festival.
Here’s a clever animated short (appropriately entitled “Airport”), composed entirely of airport infographics. The description on YouTube provided by the Portable Film Festival — a festival based in Australia and comprised of short films created for portable devices — says the film is “the animated story of one man’s epic journey, created entirely from public domain symbols.” The filmmaker, incidentally, is named Iain Anderson, which is awfully close to the spelling of our favorite flute rocker, Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson. (Thanks to Reel Pop for the spot.)
“Baby Got Back”
A timeless classic becomes a real showstopper.
Creator Michael Hightower sums up this spirited work up tidily on his Web site: “The advent of time warp technology offered to Knights of the British Empire has allowed this uniquely satisfying look at Sirs Gilbert and Sullivan’s re-envisioning of fellow Sir Mix-A-Lot’s Baby Got Back. O! What a joy it is for us to hear these three titans working in concert for the first time, and hopefully not the last.” Indeed!
“Last Letter Home”
A soldier's final words to his family, set to music.
The description accompanying this poignant video on YouTube reads: “US Army Pfc. Jesse Givens died in Iraq in the service of his country on the first of May, 2003, in his 34th year. He wrote this letter to his wife Melissa, his five year-old son Dakota (nicknamed ‘Toad’) and his unborn child Carson (nicknamed ‘Bean’). He asked Melissa not to open the envelope unless he was killed. ‘Please, only read it if I don’t come home,’ he wrote. ‘Please put it away and hopefully you will never have to read it.’”

Coming soon to a third world country near you.
With Friday’s news that Angelina Jolie will be adopting another child, we present this parody/mashup of “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” (another short by Apeman888 — “Spiders on Drugs” and “Conspiracy 911″). For more of Apeman’s work, check out his YouTube homepage here or his Website here.
“Sopranos” promo
We've waited for the beep and we'd like to know, finally, where the beef is.
New installments of the final, partial season of “The Sopranos” will begin airing on HBO next month. Here’s a re-mixed promo for the show from “This Just In” that reveals Tony has more cluttering his mind than ever before. Looks like T must have been quite the channel-surfer before his beloved History Channel came into being — if Dr. Melfi sees this, maybe they’ll finally have a breakthrough in therapy. And if they have to include some of those flashback scenes this season, we can only hope the Swedish Chef will make an appearance.
“Animaltown Doctor”
Doctor Lion says: "There is no healthcare crisis in America."
In this parody of Richard Scarry’s “Best Busy People Video Ever,” Doctor Lion explains the state of American healthcare to a young mouse with the desire to become a lawyer. You can check out this Amazon.com page’s editorial review to acquaint yourself with “Best Busy People Video Ever,” if you so choose — the basic premise: “Best Busy People introduces the concept of how a complicated society functions, with everyone’s job having an impact on everyone else’s.” [Thanks to J. Miller for providing the video.]
