More cash to be made from Anna Nicole's memorabilia: In a few weeks, an auction house in Dallas will put two of Anna Nicole Smith's diaries -- as well as her old I.D. cards and other random items -- up for sale. The cover of one reads: "This diary belongs to Vickie Smith. Do Not Read!" (Smith's real name was Vickie Lynn Smith.) They are the same diaries a German businessman bought on eBay for more than $500,000 a few weeks ago -- he has secured the publishing rights and now wants to unload the diaries themselves -- and the auction house says that while opening bids will start at $20,000, it expects each diary to go for something in the range of $100,000. Dr. Feelgood: According to papers released on Wednesday from the Broward County, Fla., medical examiner's office, all 11 of the medications found in Anna Nicole Smith's body during her autopsy came from one doctor, Los Angeles psychiatrist -- and friend of the late starlet's -- Khristine Eroshevich. Investigators say more than 600 pills were missing from the most recent batch of prescriptions, even though they were no more than five weeks old. (Associated Press)

Jolie's next adoptee on the way? The paperwork for Angelina Jolie's next adopted child is already in the works, according to London's News of the World, and she has reportedly "fallen in love" with a 1-year-old girl from Oure Cassoni, Chad. A source tells the British tabloid that Jolie and partner Brad Pitt wanted to adopt another child from Africa to "balance the family": "Angelina and Brad want to make sure Zahara doesn't feel alienated as the only black face in their family." "Tudors" makes Showtime history: "The Tudors," starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, is the most expensive series in Showtime's history, but it seems like the investment is paying off. An estimated 870,000 people tuned in to its Sunday premiere -- more than three times the network's 2006 prime-time average. An additional 404,000 caught the 11 p.m. encore, making "The Tudors" Showtime's best series debut since Kirstie Alley's "Fat Actress" three years ago. (Variety)

Knut moves markets: Polar bear cub Knut's popularity is paying off! Shares in the Berlin Zoo have doubled since the now nearly 4-month-old cub popped up on the scene (watch a video here). Each share currently costs a little more than 4,000 euros, and only 4,000 shares are available. The ax falls on TV shows: Yesterday was another "bloody Monday in TV land," according to Variety. Network executives handed down death sentences -- either outright cancellations or announcements that the shows won't be returning for another season -- for a number of series, chief among them: "The Wedding Bells" (Fox), "Six Degrees" (ABC), "7th Heaven" (the CW) and "The Black Donnellys" (NBC). "Grindhouse" juice: Scandal on the set! Today's Page Six column has a long item alleging a steamy romance between married "Grindhouse" director Robert Rodriguez and starlet Rose McGowan, who, as the column writes, plays "a stripper who loses her leg and replaces it with a machine gun to battle flesh-eating zombies." A source says: "It was the worst-kept secret on the set. They were going off to his trailer, having meals together." When the liaison was discovered by Rodriguez's wife, Elizabeth, says Page Six, work on the movie came to a halt. "When Elizabeth found out, there was an eruption of emotions -- an emotional volcano." Variety reports that the affair broke up the director's 16-year marriage, and "the production had to shut down for a month while he recovered." Zell wins auction: It looks as if real estate billionaire Sam Zell's last-minute bump in his bidding price for the Tribune Co. has paid off -- the company announced this morning that Zell has won the auction. His offer reportedly went to $13 billion, or $34 a share. (Wall Street Journal, CNN Money)

DRM, bye-bye: At a press conference today in London, Apple and record giant EMI announced what tech blog rumors had been suspecting for some time: All of EMI's catalog will now be available on iTunes without the digital rights management software that limits copying. Tracks from EMI artists -- from the Rolling Stones to the Decemberists -- will be of a higher quality (256k) and higher price, but users will be able to do with the MP3s as they will. Apple CEO Steve Jobs said in a press release that "selling digital music DRM-free is the right step forward for the music industry." (Tech Crunch, EMI)

Spears and Federline reach settlement: At a five-hour meeting Thursday at her lawyer's office in Los Angeles, Britney Spears hammered out a divorce settlement with her ex, Kevin Federline. "The parties signed a global settlement on all issues of their marriage and the custody of the children," said a spokesman for Federline's lawyer. Cruise worries von Stauffenberg clan: The family of Claus Schenk Graf von Stauffenberg, the Nazi colonel behind the failed suitcase-bomb plot to assassinate Hitler, is concerned about the news that Tom Cruise may be playing von Stauffenberg for an upcoming film. A source close to Jolie describes the plotters as "highly skilled operatives with little regard for human life." A laundry list of drugs (including Benadryl, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan, atropine, topiramate, ciprofloxacin) combined with sleep drug chloral hydrate to cause acute drug intoxication. Sheen to narrate "Loose Change"?: The 9/11 conspiracy documentary "Loose Change" may be given a second life by Mark Cuban's Magnolia Pictures. Aww, Knut: Meet Knut, the 3-month-old polar bear rejected by his mother at the Berlin Zoo who's since been raised by humans. Keepers at the Berlin Zoo have been feeding him by bottle since his mother abandoned him, but in a perverse twist, animal rights activists in Germany are demanding he be killed. "Raising him by hand is not appropriate to the species but rather a blatant violation of animal welfare laws," activist Frank Albrecht told the German Bild tabloid. "In actual fact, the zoo needs to kill the bear cub." A zoo director in the town of Aachen told the press, "I don't consider it appropriate for the species that the little polar bear is being raised on a bottle ... One should have had the courage to put him to sleep much earlier." Knut's much-anticipated first public appearance is expected to happen sometime this week. (Der Spiegel)

TMZ reports that Vivid Entertainment has offered Ray J a four-picture deal behind the camera as a director. Von Anhalt apparently takes issue with the way O'Reilly characterized him on "The O'Reilly Factor" last month: "Look, this guy's a fraud," O'Reilly said of von Anhalt. "We know he's a fraud." The talk show host also called von Anhalt a "nut," though he did add, "I say nut in an affectionate way." It's a boy! The rumors have proved true: Angelina Jolie has adopted another little boy, a Vietnamese 3-year-old who was abandoned by his parents as an infant. On Thursday, the actress and her 5-year-old son, Maddox, picked up the boy, Pham Quang Sang (whom Jolie plans to rename Pax Thien, combining the Latin word for "peace" and a Vietnamese word meaning "heaven"), from the orphanage he called home in Ho Chi Minh City. The child cried when he saw his future mother and brother "because for him, they are strangers," Nguyen Van Trung, the director of the Tam Binh center for orphans and abandoned children, told Agence France-Presse. But Jolie, who adopted Sang as a single parent, rather than with partner Brad Pitt, since adoption by unmarried couples is not legal in Vietnam, reportedly tried to comfort the child by repeating the Vietnamese phrase "khong sao dau," which means "no problem." Ultimately, the orphanage staff calmed the boy by promising him a "fun excursion." However, Us Weekly reports that the boy hid and cried through the subsequent adoption ceremony as well. Jeni's family says it was suicide: In a long, eloquent post on Richard Jeni's Web site, the late comedian's family says that while the coroner's official findings on the cause of death may still take some time, there is no doubt in their mind it was suicide. Denying that his state of mind was the result of depression over his career or a physical illness, the family writes: "Earlier this year Richard Jeni was diagnosed with severe clinical depression coupled with bouts of psychotic paranoia. One only needs to have a family member or friend with a mental illness to understand that there is nothing rational, predictable, or fair about these diseases.
