On the season's penultimate episode of Friends (8 p.m., NBC), Joey and Chandler head to Vegas, where Joey's got a part in an independent film, but then they have a big argument in the desert. And on the season finale of Will & Grace (8:30 p.m., NBC), Will discovers that Grace is secretly dating her boorish ex-fianci, and Jack agrees to marry Karen's maid so she won't be deported. Mystery! (check local times, PBS) has the second in a batch of new Hetty Wainthropp tales, "Astral Plane," in which the ladylike sleuth poses as a widow to trap a crooked spiritualist. On Frasier (9 p.m., NBC), Niles takes action when Daphne announces she's going to marry Donny (Saul Rubinek). ER (10 p.m., NBC) has a packed episode involving a tragic car crash on prom night, a mother and son rushed in after a fishing-boat accident and the announcement of the trauma fellowship recipient.

The new TV movie Survivor (8 p.m., UPN) stars Greg Evigan as the head of an oil drilling team in the Arctic besieged by an alien creature they've awakened from deep within the ice. Stop me if you've heard this one before. The documentary Beyond Barbed Wire (check local times, PBS) looks at the Japanese-Americans who fought for their country in World War II, even as their families were being confined in internment camps. Noriyuki "Pat" Morita narrates.
