On Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (9 p.m., NBC), a writer's murder yields several suspects, including his landlady and her teenage daughter. Ray and Debra hit a snag while drawing up their wills on Everybody Loves Raymond (9 p.m., CBS) -- they can't decide who should get custody of the kids. Investigative Reports (9 p.m. EDT/10 PDT, A&E) spotlights celebrities who have claimed to have had extraterrestrial encounters. Speaking of spiders from Mars, David Bowie performs and chats on a new VH1 Storytellers (10 p.m., VH1).

A Conversation with Gregory Peck (8 p.m. EDT/9:30 PDT, Turner Classic Movies) is a two-hour chronicle of the veteran actor's life and career, as told by Peck and various family members and friends. A showing of To Kill a Mockingbird (10 p.m. EDT/11:30 p.m. PDT, Turner Classic Movies), for which Peck won the best actor Oscar, follows.
