In back-to-back episodes, Peter (Jay Mohr) wrestles with stress and scandal during the filming of his high-stakes action flick. ER (10 p.m., NBC) reruns an episode from near the end of the Clooney Era, in which Doug screws up in his effort to help a dying kid. The toast of Comedy Central, former Nixon speechwriter turned poker-faced comic actor Ben Stein, gets a new weekly talk show, Turn Ben Stein On (10:30 p.m., Comedy Central). Stein and canine co-host Puppy Wuppy welcome first guests Carl Reiner and Katie Wagner.
