La Paulee de New York

Published January 8, 2000 5:56PM (EST)

La Paulie de New York is a sophisticated bacchanal that brings together over thirty of Burgundy's top winemakers in an extraordinary event for wine cognoscenti and neophytes alike. Leading authority on Burgundy wines Daniel Johnnes brings this exclusive event, based on the traditional French wine harvest celebration La Paulie de Meursault, to the states for the first time.

Spend the weekend at the chic W New York Hotel where the wine event takes place on Saturday, February 12, 2000. Begin the afternoon with a three hour wine tasting where you can sample and discuss the wines of Burgundy's esteemed vineyards with the winemakers themselves. Nibble on delectable samples from Drew Nieporent's Myriad Restaurant Group between tastings. Take respite from the activities in your impeccably designed and comfortable room at the hotel, or explore the city before returning for an extraordinary gala dinner.

You will have the rare opportunity to enjoy cuisine from three of New York's best restaurants at one sitting; Daniel Boulud of Daniel, Remi Lauvand of Montrachet and Michel Nischan of Heartbeat are sure to prepare an unforgettable meal.

Additionally, eVineyard, the leading online wine store, offering over 2000 premium domestic and imported wines and wine accessories, will present you with a case of French Burgundy from the participating La Paulie wine makers. eVineyard carries an ever-increasing selection from major wineries as well as hard-to-find wines while offering reccomendations, reviews and winemaker's notes.

You will not find the archaic rites of the Roman bacchanalia at La Paulie de New York, which were officially outlawed in 186 B.C., but the New York festivities will not fall short in their dedication to celebrating fine food and wine.

Roundtrip airfare and transfers are included. Enter to win!
