Series

On Freaks and Geeks (8 p.m., NBC), Lindsay wants to gently dump Nick, while Sam tries out for school mascot in hopes of impressing a cheerleader. Everybody Loves Raymond (9 p.m., CBS) reruns the episode where Debra and Ray can't decide who they should leave the kids to in the event of their demise. Yet another high school show debuts on the Dubba Dubba, this one a sitcom. Brutally Normal (9 p.m., WB) chronicles the school traumas of four friends who attend Normal High. Once and Again (10 p.m., ABC) returns in its new time slot. Lily's dalliance with her ex casts a cloud over her and Rick's affair; meanwhile Grace begins tutoring Eli. As if all the show's tortured introspection and compulsive confessing isn't "thirtysomething" enough for you, Peter "Gary" Horton directs tonight's episode, which features a visit from Miles Drentell (David Clennon), Michael and Elliot's old "thirtysomething" nemesis; Drentell, as icily power-mad as ever, shows up as Rick's new client.
