Quebec hair salon doubled as a brothel

Customers got more than haircuts, police say.

Naughty, naughty. The good women of Laval, Quebec, sent their husbands and boyfriends off to get haircuts and wound up getting burned instead. Perhaps they should have seen it coming -- after all, the beauty shop was called "Le Salon Sex Symbol."

According to the Associated Press, local police were tipped off by townswomen who had begun to suspect that their significant others were getting more than a shave and a haircut. After a two-month undercover investigation (I wonder why it took two months?), the cops raided the salon and found its 28-year-old owner and her client "naked, playing with a sexual toy and oil."

Eight people -- employees and clients -- were arrested in all. Laval police spokesman Guy Lajeunesse said the "hairstylists" would talk dirty, strip, perform erotic dances and copulate with their clients -- for extra money, of course.

Despite the charges, Lajeunesse conceded that some men really did get their hair cut. "We found some hair on the ground," he said.
