pals look back (and back and back). CBS
is hoping James Garner does for the
ratings of Chicago Hope (9 p.m.,
what Alan Alda did for the
ratings of "ER." Garner begins a
multi-episode guest stint as the
hospital's publicity-hungry new CEO. The
series The American President (check
local times, PBS)
wraps up with
back-to-back episodes profiling, among
others, Theodore Roosevelt, Richard
Nixon and Bill Clinton.
