Jesse (8:30 p.m., NBC) has been canceled, but that doesn't stop

NBC from airing new episodes. Another one airs at 9:30. On a rerun of
ER (10 p.m., NBC), Hathaway goes into labor on Thanksgiving. Can
you tell sweeps is over?

Specials

Oprah Winfrey and Bill Cosby host the Essence Awards (8 p.m.,

Fox), which pays musical tribute to Essence magazine's 30th
anniversary. Performers include Erykah Badu, Toni Braxton, Macy Gray, Patti
LaBelle and, for some reason, Christina Aguilera. The documentary The
Last Days (8:30 p.m., HBO)
, executive produced by Steven Spielberg,
recounts the experiences of five Hungarian Jews who survived the Nazi
death camps. In Live by Request: Don Henley (9 p.m., A&E), the
former Eagles member turned scowling solo dude performs songs from the
old days as well as his new release "Inside Job." Tom Green puts his
inimitable stamp on public service TV with the hour-long Tom Green
Cancer Special (9 p.m., MTV)
, in which he chronicles his own battle
against testicular cancer.
