On 7th Heaven (8 p.m., WB), Eric and Annie take drastic action to save wayward Mary from a life of crime. Ally hires Larry (Robert Downey Jr.) to defend her when she's sued by a born-again virgin on Ally McBeal (9 p.m., Fox). Robert's new girlfriend is young enough to be his daughter on Everybody Loves Raymond (9 p.m., CBS). On Roswell (9 p.m., WB), a green pulse from the sky swallows up most of the residents, leaving the aliens, Liz and a handful of others scratching their heads and asking, "What the hell was that?" Original Angel Jaclyn Smith makes a rare sitcom appearance as John's college girlfriend on Becker (9:30 p.m., CBS). The American Experience (9 p.m., PBS, check local times) presents "Return With Honor," a documentary in which American servicemen who were POWs in Vietnam recall their ordeals. A tragic accident that kills four teens takes an emotional toll on the cops, medics and firefighters on Third Watch (10 p.m., NBC).
