(8:30 p.m., ABC) for some laid-back, quiet improvs. Will & Grace (9 p.m., NBC) scores the casting coup of November sweeps with a guest appearance from Cher. Her Royal Cherness plays herself, as Jack finally gets to meet his idol. Sally Field begins a multiple-episode stint on ER (10 p.m., NBC); she plays Abby's troubled mom, and Abby is none too happy to see her.
