Series

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (8 p.m., WB) gives us some breathing room in the wake of last week's shattering episode about the death of Buffy's mother. Tonight, it's a rerun of the one where we learn about Tara's miserable home life. A mini-marathon of Freaks and Geeks (8 p.m., Fox Family) unspools three consecutive episodes. And the best thing about watching "Freaks and Geeks" reruns all night is that it rescues you from watching The Fighting Fitzgeralds (8:30 p.m., NBC), a midseason sitcom starring Brian Dennehy as a crusty Irish-American widower with three grown sons who all live with him. Not to be confused with "Madigan Men." NYPD Blue (10 p.m., ABC) is not a rerun. Diane gets a new partner, detective Connie McDowell (new cast member Charlotte Ross), after Danny is assigned to desk duty for roughing up a murder suspect.

How long has it been since you've watched Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (8 p.m., Fox)? Too long!
