Cheryl Lucanegro Named New Senior Vice President Of Ad Sales

Advertising Veteran Brings 25 Years of Online, Print and Event Experience To Boost Salon's Revenues

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Salon Media Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: SALNC - news), a leading new media company, today announced the appointment of Cheryl Lucanegro to senior vice president, advertising sales. Ms. Lucanegro, a 25-year sales and advertising veteran, has previously held executive positions at Standard Media International (publisher of TheStandard.Com), Ziff Davis and Upside Media.

Before joining Salon, Ms. Lucanegro was a founding member and senior vice president, online and integrated sales, at The Industry Standard, where she helped devise sales and marketing strategies for company's magazine, website, conferences and events. During her tenure, The Standard became one of the biggest success stories in publishing history, with revenues growing from zero to $140 million in under three years.

Prior to The Standard, Ms. Lucanegro was a vice president at Upside Media, where she managed all sales and marketing efforts for Upside's offline and online business publications. While at Ziff Davis, Ms. Lucanegro was a top sales producer and, during her tenure, worked in the company's Boston, Atlanta, New York, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco offices. Ms. Lucanegro graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism.
