Pro-gay and anti-Nader

The Democrats wouldn't let Ralph Nader attend their convention, but that doesn't mean that he is forgotten inside the Fleet Center.

Rep. Barney Frank mentioned Nader by name during his convention speech Thursday evening. When Nader said in 2000 that there was little difference between Republicans and Democrats, he "trivialized" the lives of gay Americans, Frank said, by ignoring the parties' very different views on gay-rights issues.

Nader shouldn't expect better treatment in New York. Anti-Ralph protesters are already planning their visuals for the Republican convention: red, white and blue placards promoting "Bush-Nader '04."
