Yes, Floridians, you can blame Bush for the weather

At least, the storms of the future, that is. That's the message of a new series of billboards going up along Interstate 4 in Florida, which depict a hurricane whirling towards the state with the slogan: "Global warming equals worse hurricanes. George Bush just doesn't get it." The billboards were co-sponsored by a PAC known as Scientists and Engineers for Change, which aims to expose the weird science of the Bush administration on issues such as global warming. "The damage from this year's hurricanes should be taken as a sign of things to come," says Michael Oppenheimer, Ph.D., professor of geosciences and international affairs at Princeton University, in a statement. "The warming ocean surface will supply more and more heat to future hurricanes, causing their winds to strengthen and their destructive power to increase disproportionately." In election 2004, even the weather is in play.
