An addendum to what I wrote last week about "Fuel for Fire": Reader Knox Bronson points out something I'd missed, that the song is clearly very closely based on Kris Kristoffersons's classic "Help Me Make It Through the Night," recorded by everyone from Patsy Cline to Elvis Presley to, most illustriously, Engelbert Humperdink. I'm partial to Willie Nelson's version.
