Daily Download: "Trial of the Century," the French Kicks

Way back in the early days of Wednesday Morning Download, I featured "One More Time," a song from the French Kicks' 2004 record "Trial of the Century" (and still well worth downloading, if you don't have it already). Now, thanks to the SXSW Web site, the title track from the same record has been made available for free download. What I particularly like about the French Kicks' recent music is how light and airy and full of space it is, compared with the dense sound of many similarly new wave-influenced current bands. Sonically this sparkling record reminds me of bright white sunlight on a perfectly clear autumn morning.
