Daily Download: “Suit of Fire,” Parker and Lily

A Magnetic Fields-ish song of bitter, vicious melancholy.

New York duo Parker Noon and Lily Wolfe’s third and last record, “The Low Lows,” comes cloaked in great atmospheric swaths of reverb, which gives it a drowsy, drunken feel and also serves to muffle Parker’s alternately mournful and bitter lyrics. “Suit of Fire” sounds like a Stephin Merritt track — stuttering, trebly drum machine; analogue synth; morbid baritone.
