Daily Download: "Money Folder (Four Tet Remix)," Madvillain

This track is from an EP of Madvillain remixes by electronic artist Four Tet, aka Kieran Hebden, which is available only on iTunes (here) and on vinyl. In sharp contrast to Madlib's dreamlike, porous beats, which gave MF Doom plenty of odd-shaped crevices to slide into, Hebden meets Doom head on with a smooth, relentless, crevice-free beat. It's a very different effect, and a compelling one. I love the electronic free jazz interlude in the middle.
